So I ran out of gas yesterday for the first time in my life. I knew I was close when the car computer read 3 miles to empty. I pulled into a gas station and parked in a stall while I finished a business call (hands free). Then, the car sputtered and died...vapors in the tank, high heat... 3 miles to empty was a computer lie. I considered myself fortunate to be at a gas station and merely rolled in neutral to the only open pump. Unfortunately a short hose wouldnt allow me to fill the tank on the other side of the car. Yes, pushing became inevitable. With the pumps to my right now vacant, I pushed my car backwards and rolled into a pump on the right side of the car. The gentle slope in the gas station helped just enough! Has anyone had a running out of gas experience they wish to share!? Mine was certainly memorable!
