So I read a post from Fearnet listing the 5 worst Stephen King - TopicsExpress

So I read a post from Fearnet listing the 5 worst Stephen King film/TV adaptations of all time – which included Maximum Overdrive, It, Dreamcatcher, Mangler and the TV mini of The Shining. With all due respect ... Worst list ever. After spending weeks working on a King-related piece for HorrorHound, I have been focused on this film catalog for a bit and I must say – most of the films on Fearnets list are decent titles. Maximum Overdrive is a guilty pleasure film. It is a classic in the minds of many. I like Dreamcatcher. I think its highly underrated. In short ... heres the TRUE list of the five worst Stephen King adaptations: 5. The Shining (TV) (Fearnet got one right ... in honesty, I have never seen Hearts in Atlantis, Dolores Claiborne, Desperation, Storm of the Century or Kingdom Hospital ... I am sure one of those are worse than the TV redux of The Shining.) 4. Trucks (We didnt need a new version of Maximum Overdrive. It was like the original film ... but boring.) 3. Tommyknockers (outside of Rose Red, I felt this was the most unwatchable mini-series produced based on Kings work. And the minis are usually the hardest ones to follow.) 2. Riding the Bullet (One of the few King films I have ever turned off.) 1. Rose Red (I have never in my life regretting buying a DVD so badly. This movie is completely unwatchable. Boring and not scary in the least.)
