So I read the article by the Guardian journalist. Obviously been eating too many lentils, turned him into a joy-sucking Dementor. Must be hard work to be that damn self-righteous. I was 7 when the first Band Aid was released & those first awful images were seen by the world. Were immune to it now; we see poverty & disease & war & horror everyday, it doesnt even register anymore. But in 1984 the world was stunned & shamed as Sir give us your f*cking money Geldof alerted us to the plight of the starving. To this day when I hear the opening bells of the original tune I am filled with a mixture of nostalgia, Christmas Spirit, sadness & shame. It still stings the back of my eyes. So this is Number 4: Band Aid 30...... I dont like half the artists on it, theyve changed the words, theres no bells.... BUT at least theyre doing SOMETHING! What are you doing Mr right-on journalist?! AND Tracey Emin has done the art work! I love Sir Bob. A tragic year for him & hes still trying to save the world. Proceeds to fight Ebola. Happy Christmas!
