So I saw Guardians. I enjoyed some aspects of the movie. I felt like it effectively delivered a feeling of the vast scope to the Marvel universe universe. The action stayed pretty light and comical, and the movie avoided being super preachy, and delivers a bit of the good triumphs over evil theme present throughout most graphic novels. Overall it was a lot of fun, and did not take itself very seriously. I would give it a 3.5 out of 5. I didnt like that the character development was so limited, not much time spent fleshing our heroes or villains out. Seemed like we got a bunch of very quick in your face soundbites for character development, then on to the big special effects scenes and green screen tricks. Another impression I got walking away from the movie was that it lacked a little because of the over reliance on big special effects. The movie goes by very quickly with lots of treats for the eye. I was also left wondering why pretty much all of the aliens except Groot and Rocket are completely humanoid, just colored blue, or have some weird tattoos, or something.
