So I saw on the news tonight that the Australian government have been giving refugees money to go back home. Now this is questionable in itself, however the part most confusing to me is why the amounts are different depending on which country the refugees have come from. Nauruans: AU$10,000 Iranians and Sudanese: AU$7,000 Afghans: AU$4,000 Pakistanis, Nepalese and Myanmarese: AU$3,300 Why do people from Nauru get $10,000 where as people from Afghanistan only get $4000? Im struggling to understand how they would have got those numbers, so if you have an idea let me know. Im interested to find out.
