So I shipped off two of my girls to college this past weekend. Amanda is now packed into her dorm at Weber State. She has three roommates: two are from China, and the other is a recently returned missionary who is also the RA for the dorm. Should be interesting. She switched her major to social work, and has a job in the Financial Aid office on campus. Heather is off for a semester internship in Washington DC, staying a couple of miles from the Mall in some rather swanky housing owned by the Hinckley Institute of Politics. She is interning with a powerful Democratic lobbying and fundraising firm, and her office will be right next to the Capital building until December. Both are so excited, and my pockets are quite a bit emptier, but what an exciting time for them. I will miss them a lot.
