So, I spent a pleasant afternoon doing trail maintenance in Henderson Park on Vulture Ridge (named after the turkey vultures who patrol the ridge). Co-incidentally, the vultures have just returned from wintering in Central America. When I was in Costa Rica some years ago, the locals called the turkey vultures messengers of God because they fly so high. In Costa Rica, the resident black vultures follow the turkey vultures because the latter have such keen eyesight and they are the first to spot a kill. It was a very pleasant afternoon and the sun was shining (most of the time). I hope all are having a good day. :)
