So I thought I should be active in this marriage thing, for purposes of understanding what would be required of a man to give a girl her dream, white wedding, and I initiated an email chat with a wedding planner (yesterday), and here’s what was shared: 1. “There is a basic charge of R5000 for the venue and an extra R60 per person”. In my head R60*120 = R7200 + R5000 = R12 200 2. “We do our catering and the price of a basic 3-course meal is R245 per head, depending on the menu selection”. In my head, R245*120 = R29 400. 3. “There will be an extra charge for the venue to the value of R1000 for every hour after midnight”. In my head, because it’s a special day, lets just say we stay till morning (from 12-3am), celebrating and dancing up a storm. R3000 4. “Arrival for the bride and groom on horse-cart is R4000”. In my head-“Romantic” 5. And I went on to imagine all other costs, including buying or hiring a dress, and here’s what I see. A simple Vera Wang dress = R12 000 6. Professional photographer = R4250, for a 4 hour event 7. Music band hire = R18 000 (about 3-6 members) 8. Wedding ring for her = R10 000 Adding the above, which does exclude some other costs, = R92 850 Ya nee!!!!!!!!!
