So .... I thought I was immune because Ive been somewhat invisible recently ... but I am honestly honored to have been nominated by my daughter-in-law, Kalyn Morse, for the Lou Gehrigs (ALS) Disease Ice Bucket Challenge. Although I have never known anyone personally who has been stricken with this disease (which by the way is terribly underfunded in its research) ... I read and have re-read and re-read yet again Tuesdays with Morrie. It is a terrible disease where one seems to be a prisoner in their own body as their body deteriorates ... slowly. This crusade and plea for funding is as much as a plea for awareness as it is for donations ... So ... with that in mind I dumped that bowl of ice water on me and nominate Lisa Mena Kates, Harvey Follmer III (Kalyns dad!!), Andrea Chock Carlin, and Meghan Milliron. LIke I said .... its as much about getting the word out as it is about funding .... so empty those ice maker tubs, yall! At least its still summer, right????
