So, I took Angela out on a date last night for a manicure and some fine dining. (Now before you give me too much credit, she planned the whole thing, I just showed up to escort her because she knows as well as I do that I would never come up with something like that on my own.) Well the problem with having a wife that is an extraordinary cook (beside the fact that Ive gained about 50 pounds since we married) is that weve had to move our eating out to a whole new level of eateries. I mean, Olive Garden or Moris? Puh-leaze. Places like that cant even come close to what she cooks for me at home. So now we have to look for one of those places with a tall hatted chef in the kitchen just to have a nice dining experience. Last night we checked out Steel Magnolias. Thats a keeper. Everything they served was exquisite but my fried green tomato appetizer was by far the best. Thick slices of crispy green tomato garnished with arugula and drizzled with peach chutney aioli and feta cheese. That right there will change your life. Oh, and Ill tell what else will change your life. The bill. I started to ask him if there was financing available.
