So I totally forgot to post this when we did it. I had two shopping bags of clothes, mostly winter clothes, that I had originally intended to give to a friend. When that fell through, instead of donating them to a thrift store like we normally would, I decided that, given the nature of the clothing and the particularly cold local temperatures as of late, I would rather do something with them where I knew they would be given to people who TRULY needed them. When you donate to a thrift store, especially the ones near me, you run that 50/50 risk that they will just end up in the hands of someone just looking to save a buck instead of someone who truly needs it. So we placed the bags in a donate bin at a local church where they will go to the St Vincent De Paul charity and are guaranteed to wind up in the hands of those who need them most.
