So I wanted give a little update about my hair and why I decided to dread it up. I have always hated how my regular hair felt on my neck and the stray hairs drove me nuts, so I always wore my hair up in a bun. I love how my new locks feel because it pulls most off the hair off of my neck. I also did not like how my hair looked down, so if I ever had it down, it had to be straightened which I no longer have to worry about because I love how it looks down now with dreads. I was forever on the hunt for a brush which I wont have to worry about anymore, and I also do not have to use conditioner (until they are well established anyways). Yes I wash them with shampoo only, not conditioner so they are not dirty like most people assume. No, I am not trying to be African American or a hippy, it is just a personal choice due to convenience and preference. I did get some stares yesterday when I went out in public, but I expected that and it doesnt bother me unless someone makes an ignorant remark. If someone happens to be rude, then that just shows how ignorant they really are, and I will respect their opinions either way.
