So I wanted to watch, The Princess Bride. Clay didnt. The WHOLE point, was to watch it with him, (a) because its my favorite movie, & (b) theres a nice message about how books can be fun. Five days (and six tries) I had to wait till he said, OK, today Ill watch it. --------- So it starts with the kid, not wanting to hear the book, and giving in to make the old man happy. (He got the irony) It was amazing how Clay consistently complained about the kissing parts 3 seconds before Fred Savage complained about the kissing parts. Worried about the good guys dying, right before Fred does I even threatened to turn the movie off (just as the old man, threatens to not finish reading the book), and got the same No, I want to finish it reaction. He made it to the end and decided IT WAS a great movie, (even if it has kissing parts.) Mission Accomplished. Rob Reiner really understood his audience when he made that film.
