So I was just driving along on I-85 today on my way in to work when BAM, a pickup truck (at least thats what the policeman told me later) came from two lanes over and clobbered me on the rear passenger door, sending me into a couple of spins. I was able to get the car going straight again and in the right direction even though I no longer had any power because the engine had cut off. I had to put the car in park to restart the engine and then was able to move off the highway onto the shoulder. At this point I was approximately 1/2 mile away from the initial impact where the other two vehicles involved in the accident were still located. I called 911 to report the incident and told them I was no where near the other vehicles. I watched in my rear view mirror as police, a fire engine and two tow trucks came and left, and still no police came to my location until I called 911 a third time to tell them I was still sitting there. Finally the police came back and realized I was part of the initial accident they had already cleared. I am grateful for many things today: 1. I was not injured. 2. I did not have a passenger today (normally my daughter-in-law would have been in the car with me but she drove her own car to work today. 3. While I was spinning, I did not hit any other cars and no other cars hit me (a bit of a miracle, to my thinking). 4. My THQ Music Department family quickly came to the accident location to be with me - Nick Simmons-Smith, and Robert Snelson (with Bethany Farrell) arrived before the policeman. The others in the department were texting each other back and forth with each other to make sure somebody could get to me and make sure I was okay. My husband was at work with no car so he couldnt come, but these people I work with are the best and they were certainly there for me today. Nick asked me if I wanted to go home or to the hospital, but my answer was I want to go to work! 5. What I am most grateful for is the Lords gracious protection and the angels who took the wheel for me today.
