So I was on Google (again) researching the topic why does everyone hate me so much when I stumbled upon an article entitled 5 ways youre making everyone accidentally hate you. The reason Im writing this is because one of the things really hit home. Has anyone else noticed that in every relationship people tend to think the other person owes them something? We each have a balance sheet that we are working from. Some people think they did their spouse a favor by marrying them. Some parents think you owe them your life because they put food on the table and clothes on your back. Some friends think that you owe them because of the things they have done for you. And feelings are usually hurt when we realize that everyone is working from a different set of rules. Think about the 60/40 rule. How do you know he or she is only giving 40 percent? What if in their mind you are only giving 20 and they are giving 80? Does this scare anyone else?
