So I was on campus Wednesday and renewed my four season tickets for Grizzly Football. To be honest, I sat outside the Adams Center contemplating keeping all 4, dropping 2, or not renewing at all. $940 is a big pill to swallow for a family of 5, with one parent out of work (me). I just didnt know if I could justify it this year. Not renewing though would mean for the first time since 1995 I wouldnt have season tickets. I moved to Missoula in the fall of 1996 to attend school. So, I took a walk around the stadium and thought of all the memories Ive had there. Too many great games and great players to name, but from Jimmy Farris to Brock Coyle and every Griz player in between, those were some great memories. There have also been great memories with family, old friends, new friends and the folks who sit around us at the games and are good for lots of high fives or even an overjoyed spontaneous hug. I then thought about all the memories yet to be made. Going to Griz games are Jordan and Is thing now. This season I am going to bring Cole along and in a few years Logan. If my three boys dont grow up Griz fans it wont because of anything I did or didnt do! As I completed my walk I saw Zack Wagenmann walking towards the John Hoyt Athletic Complex and waved him down. He stopped and looked at me with no recognition on his face until I let him know we had met down at Dickeys BBQ during the Coachs show last fall. I think he remembered me, regardless he took the time out of his busy schedule to chat. I congratulated him on becoming the next #37 and wished him good luck for spring practice and the upcoming season. What a nice young guy. I cant wait to watch him and the rest of the 2014 lay it all on the line this fall. After my walk, I went and renewed all 4 of my tickets. The Grizzly football team and its players are more than just a source of entertainment, they are part of my family and I cant put a price on that. #GoGriz.
