So, I was picking up some food from one of my favorite restaurants in Temple earlier today, and they were playing Who Run the World by Beyoncé. This older white woman got up from her table and asked the hostess to turn off the racket they were trying to pass as music. And she stood there as if she expected them to do it. Now, I dont even worship at Beyoncés altar, but how bout I wouldve left it on. Even the elderly can learn a long overdue lesson about tolerance. Maam, you are not at home, you cannot control the entire worlds playlist, and everyone in this restaurant is not over 60. In fact, most of us are not. If we all tried to enforce the preferred soundtracks of our lives in public places, wed all be made to sit in silence. Perhaps silence is what you prefer, and if thats the case, you can do that at home or a library or a Tibetan monastery. But guess what, yall? They actually changed it. *insert confused face* Next time, since apparently were doing requests to the DJ now, Im requesting Public Enemy. How bout them apples?
