So I was reading my news feed this morning, and I saw a petition for classifying Feminists as a terrorist group. While I think that is absurd, and extreme, it got me to search out videos that I have never had occasion to search for in the past, and I came across this video. Now Im no MRA. Im an HRA. That would be...HUMAN. However, I have in the past identified with the feminist movement with regard to the treatment of women in religious cultures, especially Islam. In Islam women are literally worth half the monetary value of men. They are treated as baby factories. It steps beyond ideological or cultural value with Muslims (and many Christians), and its the one argument I would have with the woman who produced this video. I watched this video with rapt attention. The things she says are all true, with the exception that womens needs are placed above mens needs everywhere without exception. One observation of society after another was presented, and applied to my life, and identified with. I began to apply these concepts to previous moments of my life, and was amazed by how accurately it aligned with expectations surrounding gender. What am I going to do about it? Nothing.
