So I was thinking about compression ratios and i was lead to this motor in my discovery for concepts... I was thinking about this thing called volumetric efficiency. A stock car comes with 50% VE most of the time. You increase your VE easily by adding a bigger intake and exhaust or getting wider duration camshafts different cranks add a longer stroke also increases compression. If you had a stock engine and put 3 inch intake and increase the compression ratio to 15 to 1 at idle the reaction creates a vacuum inside the combustion chamber and tries to suck in air from the out side atmosphere from the atmospheric pressure messing with your perfect mixture . On the mixture side of things it controls your heat range if you have a stock car and you have a 10 to 1 compression ratio the stotch mixture is 15 oxygen atoms to one gas molecule . Inside a gas molecule there are 18 hydrogen atoms to a hand full of carbon 9 or so the carbon isnt important your trying to match a oxygen atom for every one hydrogen atom inside a gas molecule . When you have a 10 to one compression ratio and a fuel ratio of of 15 to one lambda. The temperature for the 0 mark on your timing mark will be 800 degrees inside the cumbustion chamber and when you wide open throttle and have 32 degrees of timing will be at 1600 degrees . the higher the compression ratio the richer you will have to run to keep it cool . I feel that only part of the gas is atomized and turned into the 1 state of mater gas some of the 91 octane is a liquid the 2nd state of mater and because of its mass being present keeps the mixture cool. Only the atoms that are at the gas state of matter react with one another. Some one that has a high compression ratio engine and no back pressure at idle it sucks in air and messes with the perfect mixture wich heats up the engine when they Rev the engine it runs at the perfect mixture because back pressure is created in the exhaust and cools the engine there is a reason for rev a bad ass motor ever time you stop!
