So I washed my face today with a white washcloth & noticed how much dirt was coming off. So I scrubbed more & more until dirt stopped coming off my face. The cloth was visibly dirty & I thought about the times Ive washed with a dark colored cloth. Ive washed with a colored cloth & cant see how much dirt is coming off of my face & the revelation came to me about how revealing the white cloth was. In life our circumstances & situations can be our wash cloth if we desire to be clean. Those circumstances will be like the white cloth & reveal the dirt, the sin, the problems we create that are present in our lives. When it comes to washing our person we like the dark cloth because it doesnt reveal the dirt & we can feel like were clean/good cause at least we washed right? We prayed, we came to church, we talked about the good things, we heard the word & thats good enough right? That white cloth doesnt hide whats coming off if shows what is coming off. Thing is you gotta keep washing as long as you keep seeing the dirt until there isnt anymore coming off. Why are we good with a quick wash up & not a full cleansing? Cause we dont like what we see & if we see it we have to do something about it. Long as we dont see it we dont have to address it. Seeking God means we need him to reveal everything so he can fix everything those hidden dirty things need to be exposed and washed away. Take a self assessment this morning and get out the white cloth and let God clean us up real good.
