So I watched the documentary FED Up on childhood obesity and it - TopicsExpress

So I watched the documentary FED Up on childhood obesity and it was eye opening. Usually I avoid these types of documentaries as they are heavy on the problems and light on solutions. This one is kinda the same way but I did find out some very interesting things. - The Wold Health Organization recommends only 25 grams of added sugar per day. Thats around 6 teaspoons. - The sugar industry pressured the government to remove the daily recommended intake of sugar. Thats why on the nutritional facts sheets the space is blank and only carbs are reported. Using the WHO guideline a can of coke is 250% of your daily intake of sugar. - Sugar consumption and Cocaine use cause the same parts of the brain to become active. Brings a new meaning to the word sugar high. - Clearly showed the relation to sucrose / fructose intake and how the liver directly converts this entirely to fat when consumed. - All sugar is really the same but, High Fructose Corn syrup being the worst as it is nearly pure Fructose and goes right to your blood raising your insulin levels. - Having high blood insulin is terrible for your body. It causes you to get sick form some horrible thing and die early. About 2 weeks ago I weighed in at at 250 pounds, the highest I have ever been. Since then I have been following the Slow Carb diet by Tim Ferriss and its been working. Lost nearly 11 pounds over 2 weeks, should level out soon was the body adjusts to low sugar intake. It takes work to follow it and I had to modify it as I have a hard time digesting fats. Side affect of not having a gall bladder, Will see in a few more weeks how it has been going but so far works well. Feel way better and have tons more energy. rottentomatoes/m/fed_up_2014/
