So, I went for Guardians of the Galaxy. It was good, but completely of the way it is in the comics. For starters, his mom dies because a group of aliens(known as Badoon) kill her, she does not die of cancer in the original comics. Secondly, Quill isnt abducted by the Ravagers, he grows up on Terra(Earth) and joins NASA. Then an alien entity called the Master of the Sun eventually visits the space station that Quill and other astronauts are inhabiting, and offers the mantle of Star-Lord (an interplanetary policeman) to a worthy candidate. Quill volunteers, but is rejected in favor of a colleague he once treated badly. Then outraged he leaves his planet and becomes the Star-Lord. Thirdly, Star-Lords dad Jason, from a race of Spartians is not an unknown source. He is quiet well associated with the Nova Corps. Please Stan youre not even trying....
