So I went for a pick up at the airport, on my way,my phone rang and it was important, despite that I had my Bluetooth on,I parked to pick the call, I had only stayed about 15seconds,these guys came from nowhere like they had been trailing me,FAAN towing vehicles, one in front, one behind and they were ready to tow my car, despite the engine running, windscreens wound and I was still in the car. After so much English, they said I was guilty for parking atall, whether to call or not. I accepted and they drove me to the office on a Sunday. Lo and behold,my fine was 10,000naira cash. After another round of English and so much disrespect from them, they even threatened to deflate my tyres for speaking so much English, because of time,I agreed to pay,at least in my mind,I was paying the government, not them. I asked for the account details, they said Id have to pay cash to them on a Sunday evening because that is how it has been, as in pay CASH to the guys that towed drove my car from the road into their so-called FAAN OFFICE My question is,after making so much laws and attaching a fine,I then make the payment into the hands of these thieves called government workers? Who accounts for these fines people pay?and they do that on a daily basis, making a fortune out of peoples hard earned money. One of them shouted and told me, whether you shout or not,i will collect my money and at the end of the month,my salary will enter and there is nothing you can do about it And that is the structure we have in the country, every government agency that is supposed to instill discipline seems to have been designed for extortion and they are glad about it. This must stop! Corruption must stop!!! Please share... Adeolu Adeniyi
