So, I went to Walmart Conroe today to print headshots to send my agent. Apparently, if you have a really nice picture taken by a friend photographer, in this case Toia Islas, you STILL need RELEASE for them to give you the pictures. So this lady, Donna (whose last name was not provided) refused to give me my pictures with MY FACE. So I asked for a manager. The manager, Mr. D Hernandez, went and talk to the lady and came back with the same answer. I asked him that I wanted them to DESTROY my pictures. He said he would. I said I wanted to see this (again, its MY FACE). HE REFUSED. Needless to say the situation is beyond ridiculous and I find it extremely disrespectful that the said manager would not even allow me to see them destroy MY PICTURES. So Walmart heres a NEWSFLASH: 1) If I didnt have permission to use the picture, the photographer would have NEVER given it to me in the correct resolution to be printed in 8x10 and/or would have included their name/watermark 2) If your picture is used in sites like IMDb (which this one in question is, as in on my FB profile pic) it is pretty obvious I am allowed to freely use it (I kindly showed this to the manager) 3) There is NO WAY IN HELL you know who took the pic and can tell if the said permission is legit. Therefore, I could have written one myself, put a fancy signature and come back. But thats not in my nature. (PLus, I will never come back to this place. Theres so much one can take) So, bottom line, I am not allow to have my pictures, but Donna at Walmart is and I cant even witness her shredding them. Makes sense...NOT! Luckily, theres a nice variety of other places nearby. Thank you Target for having a nice Kodak center and nice employees with common sense.
