So I went to go see the movie Enders Game made after one of my all-time favorite novels and I gotta say it wasnt nearly as bad as I had feared. Im just so used to seeing some mutant jabberwokky nightmare version of books I loved appearing on the silver screen (one prime example being I am Legend; a fantastic novel and a terrible film). However the source material was respectfully and effectively translated to the screen without too much loss of context. Of course for time constraint reasons they had to leave out a lot of great material and the film will never convey the amazing themes of innocence, fear, redemption, war, love, or regret as the book. Hollywood gained a couple points in my book. Not enough to make up for Man of Steel, but still. God Man of Steel was crap...
