So I went to the Alaska State Council for the Arts conference this weekend, and I met composer Christopher Jette there. We were all in an artsy mood, making and drawing and discussing and being suddenly surprised by dancers. I mentioned Chriss gorgeous typewriter, and he said, Do you think you could play the typewriter in a piece of music? Also, have you heard of Twitter? I need you to tweet using a typewriter. I couldnt quite bring myself to tell him that I might be better suited to play this piece of music than anyone else on the planet. Im condensing the story a bit, but thats what happened. I performed the piece and it reminded me very much of my college advisor Mark Applebaum.
