So I went to the memorial service for Frankie Knuckles last night, - TopicsExpress

So I went to the memorial service for Frankie Knuckles last night, and Ive got to say I was deeply moved by the entire of experience. It was entertaining as well as reflective (Robert Owns performed Tears live… WOW). I was honored to be amongst so many legends of the dance music community under one roof paying their respects to such a heroic icon. The testimonials given by everyone who expressed how much of a caring, funny, loving and humble human being he was lets me know that you can definitely be a giant in this music business without being a giant with your ego. It keeps you grounded and keeps you directly connected to the music without unnecessary distractions. To everyone who calls themselves a DJ or an entertainer for that matter, realize that you have a GOD given gift that should never be taken for granted. Stay focused, do right by others and dont let your ego get the best of you. We all have some kind of ego be it big or small, but learning how to curb it is the key. Frankie Knuckles symbolized life, love and music. He was a class act and globally respected. Thats what Im talking about! Rest well brother Frankie...
