So. Id like to propose an awareness challenge. No keeping score or anything, just food for thought. I have a plethora of intelligent and thoughtful friends. I get weekly articles regarding our population evolving into a more egalitarian view of women, seen as human beings of equal value. Awareness raising articles on the difference between objectification of women versus perceiving men as whole beings. And *yet* every single photo a woman places here on my sheltered little FB world- is met with comments regarding their beauty and pleasing looks. We do it to boost the moral of our friends or to admire their beauty- I get that. Im not arguing it. It *is* nice to hear. But, in the end, while it is positive reinforcement... it is still objectification. So, think on it if you will. Im not trying to start an argument. All of my friends are indeed beautiful. But see if you see it too, and maybe consider changing that way of addressing your friends. Try for one week to say something different regarding the whole person, their talent, their humor, maybe about the circumstances of the photo... something beyond the shell of image. Let your female friends know you see all of them
