So Im arguing via e-mail with my conservative businessman friend yesterday (hes a nice guy, if not the swiftest greyhound at the track) who thinks Bill OReilly checkmated Obama the other night when he interview Leon Panetta. In case you havent heard, Panettas pushing his book, wherein he says he disagreed with the president on how to deal with ISIS. So naturally, the entire reich-wing sees this as yet another smoking gun. In my friends world, there are only three things that matter; lower taxes for himself, polishing the turd once known as the Bush administration, and Fox News being number one in the ratings. He writes: Panetta verified who the real liar is. Bush acted on misinformation believing it to be in the best interest of others; Obama created misinformation for his own selfish political interest. Liar liar pants on fire. So I wrote back: Wrong. OLielly merely twisted Panettas words to fit his narrative. Panetta was also interviewed elsewhere, where he wasnt interupted and badgered by his host and differences aside, he never once questioned President Obamas veracity. That was inserted by Dildo Reilly for the consumption of you and your like-minded demographic. You ought to be congratulating this president. Over 10 million new jobs created since he got elected vs 1 million under Bush in eight years, the biggest mass murderer in American history is dead, after your guy gave up looking for him, the unemployment rate is now nearly half what it was under Bushs recession, 5.9%, 10 million more Americans have health insurance, which is 25 *times* as many as those who listen to OReilly and Hannity rail against Obamacare, the stock market is triple where it was under Bush, and all you conservatives have to boast about is that 400,000 old, illiterate white people watch Fox News. How f***ing pathetic. His comeback? Obama lied about Benghazi. I swear. Oh, and he misspelled Libya. Ive concluded that once theyve taken a sip of Uncle Ruperts Elixir for the Perpetually Ignorant™, theres just no coming back.
