So Im busy preparing for my usual busy week when my sons ask me to play some basketball in the driveway. As I tell them maybe guys, Im really busy preparing documents etc. they dont complain they just turn around obediently , drop their heads and eyes and walk outside. I look just for a split second and catch the sadness in their eyes and the disappointment. Why? Because they wanted their dad around? To play some HORSE and he was too busy...... Im so very thankful I caught that look on their face. We played for about two hours into the night. We walked in the house and two very rare unsolicited hugs (they usually are solicited by myself and Amanda with two boys that are getting too cool for us) came around my waist and they just said Thanks Daddy, that was awesome and they went to bed. In between me feeling like a piece of garbage for almost missing that out of mis-priorities and the gigantic smile of fulfillment and accomplishment , I realize how much our children can teach us if we let them. Life is truly a vapor. Take some time to play BBall etc.with your kids. Keep your priorities where they belong . Because while trying to provide for our children .....we may completely miss their childhood.
