So Im currently watching Arrow (the CW version of The Green Arrow). 1. I dont know a lot about the Green Arrow (other than Smallville and Justice League Unlimited), but so far its really interesting. 2. Its obvious theyve put a little more thought into it than Smallville. I liked Smallville, but it was kind of watered down. 3. It continues the trend of giving the protagonist a stupid nickname until they give him his real name (Superman was the Blur, The Green Arrow is The Hood. Will Flash be the Dash?) 4. Its pretty dark. Honestly, it resembles Batman in so many ways (Rich playboy, suffers a familial, life altering loss, except this guy kills. A lot). 5. Other than the obvious post Smallville CW comic show comparisons, its actually kind of a good show. The writing is way more entertaining than Smallville. No freak of the week crap. Its still CWified, but in a better way. The dialog is actually entertaining, none of the cheesy one liners that Smallville had. Like all those stupid big words zingers. The chemistry of the cast works way better in this one. 6. The characters feel more real. Theyre not caricatures. And theyre actually enjoyable to watch. The acting, while still CW, is less forced and abrupt. Emotional scenes are actually more emotional rather than, over the top absurd.
