So Im going to do the showing off thing. My son Dan who is 12 got chosen by his school to be part of the Brilliant Club- (not the best name for promoting egalitarian harmony)- a non profit organisation that gives the most able students from state schools a taste of what its like to study at one of the top universities. Hes been having extra tutorials in maths (maths?! he didnt get it from me) with a PHD student and at the end of last term he had an assessment and he was awarded a first class degree. Today we are going to London University to see him graduate. Hes a really diligent, hard working kid ( we have to stop him from doing too much homework) and he deserves it!
