So Im gonna start one of these frivolous threads. IMHO, the 60s were the golden age of rocknroll and the 70s were the golden age of dogcrap disco. But the 50s were the golden age of vocalists. Let me cite some: Ella Fitzgerald (the greatest of them all) did all her song books, Sinatra did his best stuff on Capitol, Sarah Vaughan, Frankie Laine (awesome voice, you remember him from Rawhide) Harry Belafonte, Lena Horne, The Drifters, the Platters and other Doo-wop groups, Nat Cole (smooth and warm as velvet), Patsy Cline (queen of country) etc. Do you have favorite Ive omitted? Or do you, Heaven forbid, disagree with me?
