So Im guessing everyone has their own superhero who maybe inspired them growing up or who they met later on in life but who taught them how to become the person that they always wanted to be. Well for me that person is Olivia, founder of Lucystrust. I met Olivia several years ago as her client. But we have become very close friends and I for one could not feel more privileged to feel able to call her just that. Will she be mortified that I’ve told you that, absolutely but this modest quiet humble lady has my utmost respect. When I first got to know of Olivia’s rescue work I was in awe, that someone who worked all the hours god sent, gave up her time to rescue the most difficult dogs that no one wanted. She believes where there is life there is hope and set about rescuing those dogs who were at risk of being put to sleep needlessly. Did she ever shout from the rafters about her great work… never. Shes not that type of person. The only thanks she seeks is to watch a traumatised dog wag its tail for the first time and be truly happy. Olivia has a kindness in her soul which is rarely seen in this world. She is the most honest trustworthy and down to earth person I have had the pleasure to meet. The love she has for each and every animal she meets is plain to see and she has been there more often than I care to remind her to help me when cats and kittens in my care that are beyond help, get the treatment they need. We have cried together, we have laughed and been angry together but I love her and everything that this lady stands for. She has helped many of the well known rescues with advice, treatment or support. Its time we stood by her side and helped her. So why am I saying all of this? Well Lucystrust needs help.
