So, Im in Toastmasters one night and I walk in a minute late, so I take a seat at a table in the back of the room. The President if the club comes over to me and says it just doesnt look right you being the only African American in the room and your sitting in the back of the class. My EMOTIONAL side said get up and get angry and say all kinds of angry stuff to him just cuz he brought race into it. I dont even know what he said, I dont even know what he said means yet. Im just angry! Luckily my LOGICAL response was to actually listen and interpret and analyze the words he said and actually THINK about what he said instead of just react to it. Turns out, He was right! I had no business in the back of anybodys classroom. So I packed up my things and moved to the front of the class, where all of that good learning and information is at! I guess the moral of the story is dont cheat yourself out of no information, business, love, blessings etc fooling around with EMOTIONS. Think chess not checkers! Keep your head! YOUR DREAMS ARE RIGHT THERE! JUST KEEP GOING! For me, EVERY DAY IS COLLEGE! PEACE!
