So, Im in line at the grocery store and the woman in front of me is going s l o w. Then she dumps her entire purse on the floor- things are flying in every direction. I helped her get her things together and the checker finished. She was not acting right so the checker and I talked as she rang me up, and we both thought that she had some mental instability issue. We talked about how once we figured it out we both went into compassion mode. She proceeds to say that her son has a mental disorder and how hard it is when people give looks.We engaged a little more in conversation and she asked why I knew a little about the issue. I told her I was a pastor and her face lit up. She tells me, you just never know whos going to come through your line. She thanked me profusely for talking with her and giving her hope. Im like, what? Simple kindness goes a long way, right?
