So Im packing to fly to my new gig in Florida. Now as a trucker there are many things to be considered. Since I may not be home for a few weeks, I need a lot of crap. And as it took me a full 4 hours to unload my last truck, equipping my new truck could be a chore. As I look around the mounds of debris that came from my last outing I realize that maybe (since its May) I may not need my South Pole Gear. And as far as those two 35lb. dumbells, maybe the mattress in this new truck wont need couterweights to keep it from rolling up on both ends...(whatd you think they were for?). A two compartment foot tub, an incense burning get up, a set of cookware that fits inside one another (like some of them Russian nesting dolls), two LED lighted finger guides (eyes rolling), one of them SAD (seasonal affective disorder) headsets, an electronic gadget that looks like an IPad that is used to calculate distances from one place to another (I think I have one of those on my phone), an astrolabe, a get up that has these electrical leads that you stick on your noodle and it sends electrical impulses through your cerebral cortex so that you can think clearly, a vibrating butt cushion (so you dont get butt blood clots), these things you stick in hot water and stick up under your armpits while your driving (I dont even remember what those are for) and a couple of devices for when a mans lonely on the road....maybe I dont need all this right now? So Im going to just take the bare essentials. There are things that we all have to buy on a regular basis. Im taking just enough for a few days and will hit Wally world when i get to Florida. Ill wear one pair of Jeans and pack two, two pair of socks, two boxers, two beaters, a couple of pullovers and my boxing gloves. All this and my toiletries, communications and sundries should fit into my duffle bag. Ill carry-on my laptop and my vibrating butt cushion. I got this!
