So Im reading a book and the main character is an escort who lives in Australia. Several different American accents are described. I can hear each one n my head. The Chicago accent through me for a loop. So, like what? He just sounds Midwestern? So he sounds exactly like my husband? I know its because Im from the Chicago region, but I never really thought of us having an accent. I figured we were are really monotone. I cant even think of any cliche sayings or types of Chicago accents. Someone help me out. What am I missing? The guy is a mobster type, but that makes me think of Godfather
