So...Im reading some stuff on Facebook, looking at comments...and low and behold people start talking about slavery. First of all, shush. We dont have slaves anymore, unless you count our kids...cause everyone knows we make our kids slave for us. Secondly, to the idiot who said that the only people who are to be held responsible for having slaves are the slave owners and their descendants...um. Wait, their descendants?!? Because...they...were there...and...um. Ive got nothing to explain this one. People, blame our ancestors...then shut up. Again, we dont have slaves. Third, to the paramecium brain who said only black people were slaves, so no other race could even begin to comprehend the pain they went through. Wait wait. Let me take a minute to breathe. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. OH LORDY!!! The amount of stupidity..I just cant deal with it!!!! Man, I giggle so hard when I read these posts. I mean, I get mad, but I giggle too! There are people who actually write blogs about how to pay the white man back for all the years of oppression they have put the black man through...black women dont count, apparently. And white women are safe because we all know women dont have brains...but still. Guys, I hate to break it to you...SLAVERY IS NO MORE! Well, unless you count the slavery you have pulled yourself into by trying to recreate the past as a way of proving that you live in a desolate waste land. Now, Im not putting down the strife people went through waaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day. It was real. It was hard. And it is something I am so glad we do not go through today. But...guys, Indians were slaves. The Irish were slaves...the Jews, I mean, virtually every race has been a slave at some point or other. Im not going around screaming at people for desecrating my ancestors land. Im not screaming about how back in the days of Methuselah, my 100 something great grandpa was a slave. I mean...its time we ALL, as a people, step away and wash our hands of it. Move on. We arent getting any better by rehashing this. Its not going away. Stop trying to figure out who we are going to make pay for our ancestors sins and just...get on with life. You arent being held down. Yes, I know life is a struggle. But its not just you who is struggling with these things. Everyone struggles. Stop pushing each other down, just to pull yourself up a little higher on their pain. Reach over, grab a hand. Dont look to see what color it is or if it is pretty or whatever, just grab it and pull them up with you. Im all for rising up and taking over, but lets rise up for the right reason. Lets do it together. Lets take over our lives and quit letting the past take us down. Im all for helping you out. I dont care who you are, do you care who I am? Do you care that Im white, that Im a woman, that I have kids??? Do you? Because those things are stopping me from going where I want to go.
