So, Im sure you guys have noticed we have not had a lot of updates with little Landon. Sorry for the delay but we had to let the girls know and immediate family before we posted on Facebook. Dont worry! All is well! It will just be a rocky road ahead for us, with smooth sailing after it is done. Most of you know that Landon was born with a genetic heart defect. It is fixable, but the situation just turned out to be a wee more complicated than first suspected. We were hoping that the surgery (open heart) would be delayed until 6ish months of age. While he is fine right now, the large committee of 14 cardiologists feel that without immediate surgery he COULD be in trouble, so lets eliminate the risk and do it now. Its complicated to explain without a lot of text. Well explain after or before the surgery in a different post. So, they transferred him to Strong today. Check out his cool ride! Its a mini hospital! He arrived safe and sound. His surgery is scheduled for Tuesday or Wednesday. After that, there is a two to three week recovery, and he can come home if all is well! He will need another surgery at 6 months and one last one at 5 years. After that he will be a normal, healthy little boy. Only thing is, he cant play professional sports. School and college sports would be ok. If hes anything like me, this is not a biggie. Yes, it is stressful. Yes, there are some unknowns. And it is hard being home right now without him. We would like to thank you all for being there for us and keeping him in your thoughts. We will update as news arises and milestones are passed.
