So, Im taking a class on financial accounting - not a subject that Ive got a lot of background in, so Im challenged a little bit on this topic. Im at the airport going over some of the material for the class, and a guy leans over to me and says Youve got the wrong number in that column. I laugh it off, because it wasnt the number I put there - its the number that was from the text material. The guy then insists, Youve got the wrong number there! He then launches into a 2 minute diatribe about how people need to understand numbers better, and telling me that he got his degree from some fancy school, and these watered down courses just muddy the waters for real professionals. I thanked him for his thoughts, closed my computer and decided it was time for a bathroom break. I return to the gate area, waiting for my plane, and the guy wants to talk to me again! Now its how I shouldnt be taking a class on something that I dont understand (Huh? Really buddy?). Finally, I open my computer, and show him the exercise, either hoping to shut him up or give him a chance to explain why he things that number should be different. Either way, I can get him off my case. Hum, guess thats the right number for this column, he apologizes... Gezzz...
