So, Im taking down the You just might be a racist post because it got the views I wanted. I didnt read through the comments (as promised) although to be honest, I did see a few when I checked to see the numbers on the post. I didnt note who said what, though. Sometimes its more important to say something, than it is to have it heard because youre forced to clarify your thoughts (ideally). So those of you who are really mad at me, Im glad I could provide the service for you. Those of you who think Im the bee-knees, well, youre right, and I dont take that responsibility lightly. Knees and bees being what they are. I wasnt interested in starting a discussion of the Michael Brown case, or, for that matter, a discussion at all. I was interested in seeing if people would look honestly at their motivations, their knee-jerk reactions. What was my first instinct, and more important, WHY was that my first instinct? From what I see the experiment failed spectacularly, but I appreciate everyone participating, even if many kind of missed the point. This post expanded into a very long essay, but I’ll spare y’all that. Carry on.
