So, Im watching CSI:NY, due to mom and Brittany watching it, and the episode actually bugs me. Premise: cop shoots unarmed teen. The first amendment gives the right to peaceful protest and demonstration. But, in the episode, the crowd storms the police station to get their hands on the cop, assaulting other cops in the process. Then, they simply let the people continue their protest outside. The moment they shoved past the guards, the first amendment protection vanished. The police had every right to force that crowd to disperse, at that point. Why? It was no longer peaceful. In reality, that crowd would have been dispersed or arrested.
