So... Ive been asked to be on a small panel of queer artists for a possible future radio program short series on MPR discussing our practice & such. The other panelists invited are nice & polite folks whose work I would consider conventional and their approach fairly traditional. Some of the conversation will focus on gender non-conformity. Nick thinks I should NOT do it because he thinks that Im being typecast as the asshole because of reasons that should be clear to anyone who knows how I think. He believes that every other word out of my mouth will send these people into a PC tizzy. Hes very suspicious of their intentions. I think I SHOULD do it because marginalised queer artists NEVER get a voice in mainstream media & heres a chance to speak some hard-to-hear truths about our so-called community. Im torn. What do you think I should do?
