So....Ive been in the hospital since this past Sunday (for the usual reason), but i ended up having to have a semi-emergency surgery to remove my medi-port due to an infection dangerously close to my heart. Im laying in the surgery room, arms strapped down so they can hack away at my chest. and dig that sucker out as well as put in a couple of Central Lines in the other side of my chest. They gave me the same anesthesia that killed Michael Jackson, but about 1 minutes into the 45 minute surgery i woke up. I kind of shocked the surgeon and staff by asking how things were going and if there was anything i could do to help. They started to scramble to get me back asleep, but since they also gave me local anesthetic i told them they werent hurting me over much and they left me alone. But to pass the time i asked them if they would like me to tell them a joke. They agreed so i proceeded to tell them my famous Gorilla in my tree joke. Amazingly i was able to make it through the joke despite the medicine and they all laughed at the joke (except one nurse who didnt get it...there is always one in the crowd who doesnt get the joke right away). Later, the surgeon and staff told me that this was definitely their first time to have a patient tell them a joke while they performed surgery on the patient. So.......top that everybody else!
