So, Ive been on a hummus kick recently for a few reasons. It fits a vegan diet, for one. Its delicious, for another. Its pretty inexpensive, for a third. I made hummus tonight, which to my shame didnt have tahini, but alas, Im a novice and a hack in the kitchen. Darlene says she likes it saltier, while I like the strength of the lemon, but either way, it was an attempt worth sharing. So, I thought Id share: Add these 7 ingredients at once to a food processor (or blender, which I did): 1/2 large clove garlic chopped. 1.5 tsp salt. 5 tablespoons lemon juice. 1/4 cup water. 1/4 cup olive oil. 1 tsp cumin. 1.5 tsp Siracha sauce. Blend/Mix/Grate whatever until color changes/evens out. Add 1 can garbanzo beans and blend until consistency evens out. Add additional can garbanzo beans and blend until consistency evens out. Im open for questions, cross-examinations, and points of clarification.
