So... Ive been reading a lot lately about the effect of inactivity and isolation on the over 60s. The latest research suggests that spending prolonged periods alone coupled with a lack of physical activity, can affect not only the heart, lungs, and muscles, but also affect serotonin reuptake by the brain amongst other things which can in turn lead to depression an inability to combat disease and infection, and even early-onset dementia. In fact, the bodys ability to deal with illness, injury, stress, worry, and even digestion, can all be affected negatively. All by not moving, and not interacting enough. With this in mind, Im offering a FREE class to pensioners. Twice a week, 11am, Monday and Friday. There will be a donation pot, so if attendees want to pop some change in that, they can. All this money will go to age concern. RED. Retired. Extremely Dangerous. (we may have to change that for copyright reasons lol) The class will consist of smooth, Tai-Chi style movements and warm ups, fitness and strength, flexibility, a little self defence, and lots of mobility. Its open to anyone, but will be specifically designed for the over 60s. Tell your parents, grandparents, aunties and uncles. It wont be patronising or lame, itll be awesome -because, well, yknow - Im doing it. ;-)
