So Ive been staying pretty quiet because gosh forbid I say anything someone might disagree with. Growing up I was taught to respect authority. Authority, meaning anyone who was older/wiser or who was put in a position of authority, such as our parents, teachers and cops. Here recently Ive seen lots of videos being shared of people arguing with the police, while taking video of themselves disobeying instructions to provide identification or to lay down on the ground. If these people werent doing anything wrong, why would they argue? Why would they feel so inclined to take video of themselves disobeying and antagonizing a cop? Im not going to say there havent been any situations where cops might have abused their power, but thats not every cop either and theyre still the police. Just like your parents are still your parents and sometimes whether or not you like it, you must do as youre told. Right now, Id be on the defensive too, if I were a cop. Theyre being threatened by people who have no respect for the law or authority. Who feel theyre entitled to ask why should I and to stand up in their faces, while taking videos of them being confrontational? Since when did that behavior become OK? It probably started when a parents right to discipline their child was removed? Now people feel they shouldnt ever have to answer to anybody or follow instructions? They can just throw tantrums instead, because there shouldnt be any such thing as authority figures? This is also why a lot of young people cant hold down jobs. If theyre told something they dont like or are asked to do too much now a days, they just quit, saying... I dont have to take that from anybody. youtu.be/QUs-kZGpJiQ
