So Ive been thinking of this post for the past couple of months - TopicsExpress

So Ive been thinking of this post for the past couple of months now, and with Jozis 1st birthday being only 11 days away I guess its time to do it. Things Ive learned in my first year of being a Mommy 1. Pregnancy is the easy part 2. More than likely, nothing will go as planned. Whether its planning to breastfeed for 6 months or get the door by 8 a.m., chances are something is going to through a glitch in your plan. 3. NEVER brag about your child sleeping through the night, in fact never even mention it, because for the next month they will be up 3 times a night. 4. Put your favorite outfit on your baby for a picture and immediately take it off. There will be food or bodily fluids on it shortly after putting it on. 5. Having a child who does everything early is nice to brag about, but that just means they will be into trouble early also. 6. Always carry 4x the amount of baby wipes you think you will need when leaving the house. They are sure to have a diaper explosion at the worst possible moment! 7. Not every baby loves car rides....especially not mine :( 8. Pick what cartoons you let them watch carefully, because you will indeed be singing those songs in your head forever. 9. Eating dirt is not the worst thing they could do. 10. ALWAYS close the toilet lid!!! 11. For those first couple months when they are in your room in a bassinette, get a bed that doesnt squeak everytime you lay down or roll over. 12. There is no such thing as giving your baby your cell phone or remote to play with, just once. 13. Have a routine. Not just because children thrive on it, but it will keep you sane knowing there is exactly 17 minutes until the crabby baby goes to bed. 14. If you think your hormones made you a crazy, manic, b***h while you were pregnant...just wait til the postpartum blues kick in! 15. You never know what love really is until you have a child. 16. Get used to the words no-no they will come out of your mouth more than anything else. 17. Take all the snuggles you can get those first 6 months. 18. Learn to enjoy a cold dinner. 19. Never leave the house without a couple spare binkies. 20. Time after giving birth seems to be on fast forward, so cherish every moment. Those sleepless nights are just Gods way of letting you have a little extra time with them as babies.
