So, Ive been working on starting a studio/production situation for myself and my friends... Im on my third record so far, and we have a few more in the wings... I just wanted to say something about it here quickly, before I start talking about it publicly: This is something Ive dreamed about. Ever since I started mixing terrible emo-core demos in high school on a Windows 98 computer with terrible gear... I always wanted my own studio space, my own list of bands to work with... And I never followed up on it. Not even for myself. I changed that this past year. I dove headlong into working on some stuff for myself, and then when I passed that around to several of my friends, they wanted to have me work on their stuff. I made up a bunch of excuses at first- I live in an apartment, I dont have a lot of gear, I only have a handful of records under my belt, etc etc... But in the end, I just said screw this, lets just do it or we never will. And its been one of the best decisions Ive ever made. I wont get into details, like I said, but I just wanted to encourage you guys to stop listening to all of those excuses we make for ourselves. Just start doing the things you want to do- dont worry about the gear or the web traffic or the environment or whatever... Just start doing it! There were a lot of people in this group that encouraged me to just start doing it, and so I just wanted to share a bit of that with you guys to pay it forward. =)
